Sunday Post #139

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer ~ It's a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share new about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good morning! Or afternoon. ;) Hope you are doing well this week.
My birthday came and went, just like any other day. I did get dinner for our anniversary from my husband before my birthday and that included both. It was a lovely dinner.
But, talking about my birthday reminded me. I didn't mention it was the blogs birthday too! I have been blogging for 7 years! Hard to believe I've been here that long. This little blog started with a post on July 21, 2009 on a trip to Washington DC I went on with my son and husband. Wow.
So what's the plans this week? I'm going to the local art museum today as it's free admission. Believe it or not, I've never been there. Crazy! I've been trying to take advantage of these things around my local town. There were free concerts at the Palace Theater, and I went to another last week. Oh the band was very, very good! They played swing music and I loved them. :) I'm hoping to have pictures of that up later this coming week at Spellbound in a Flash. Also, the post for Confluence book convention will be finished soon, and also up at Spellbound in a Flash with all the pictures! :D
I have a lot planned for today. Go the museum, fix up pictures and posts, write up reviews (2), write, post reviews, and a few things around home need done.
Reviews:
Fast Money by Colleen Helme
"If I wasn't hooked before, this story would have sealed the deal!"
Esoterrorism by C.T. Phipps
"Undead, magic, and spies. Heck yeah! There are so many quick clips and references to spy movies/shows, comics, even Disney movies, and so much more here! It's all blended with magic and mythical creatures of all cultures. I enjoyed seeing the blend of different cultures in supernatural beings here."
An ancient Prophecy, foretold millennia ago . . .
Child of the Traitor
Shall pierce the Veil
And destroy the Hidden
Mikki Daneen is living the life she's always dreamed but she hides an extraordinary gift--the ability to perceive her clients' most intimate desires. A secret liaison brings death and destruction to Mikki's life, but she's not the only one in danger. Mikki must uncover the secrets of a culture she never knew existed, and expose the true betrayer. Will her psychic visions be able to help her find the evil that is driven relentlessly to slaughter, before it's too late?
Hidden Design, The Prophecy, is a full-length contemporary fantasy/thriller novel that contains elements of romantica.
The story is set in New York City where Mackenzie Daneen is a successful interior designer, in part because she can psychically link into the most secret desires of her special clients and give them exactly what they want. Mikki is on top of her world until an old boyfriend/FBI agent asks her to glean details on a kidnapping suspect, Seth Harkinson, by using her psychic ability. When she learns more than she bargained for, her life starts falling apart. Through Seth, she uncovers the truth; she may be the child the prophecy speaks of. She runs for her life from a demon-possessed beast that is hell-bent on hunting down and killing the innocent children who possess magical gifts; children of whom the prophecy may speak.
While she and Seth fight for their lives, they discover they have a connection that runs deeper than either of them imagined.
  5. I'm trying not to think about the amount of DIY needed in the house plus all the gardening. It took two days to put my new bed in and get the place fit to live in again. Next is repainting the living room but there is so much furniture to move! Enjoy your books! Glad you had a good birthday and anniversary.
